The Niagara Frontier Open Bonspiel (formerly the Youngs) will take place January 12-14, 2024
The Bonspiel features several changes that make it accessible to all curlers of all skill levels.
Highlights include:
- Open format spiel open to any combination of men and women
- Rated where each club will rate their play
- Shortened to 3 days
- Open and Seniors Divisions
- Guaranteed 3 games
The focus of this spiel is to have fun for all Niagara curlers and to encourage newer curlers to try a bonspiel. Curlers will get to play in at least 3 of the participating clubs: the St. Catharines Curling Centre, St. Catharines Golf and Country Club, Niagara Falls Curling Club and Welland Curling Club.
- The spiel is a 3-day event running Friday through Sunday.
- Participants can sign up as a pair or as an individual. The spiel Committee will match up players based on club rating to make up competitive teams geared to fun and good games.
- The Open division features a maximum of 32 teams, 8 from each club, so if you are interested in playing, sign up early!
- Guaranteed 3 games, meals and prizes, plus a music night in Welland on Friday Night.
- Cost will be $50.00 per person.
New this year is the Seniors division, (60 years and older) This draw has a limit of 16 senior teams (4 from each club) to avoid having more than 2 games in a day! Again, sign up as a pair and the Committee will fill in the others.
