What to Bring and When to Arrive:

  • Bring warm clothes in layers that will not shed fibres on the ice
  • Bring with you a pair of flat soled running shoes with cleaned soles to change into.  There will not be a place to clean dirt off the bottoms of the shoes you plan to wear on the ice so please be sure to have cleaned them at home and bring them with you (do not wear outside)
  • Bring only what you need for the ice as there is nowhere to store bags, etc
  • Stretch at home before arriving
  • Arrival time - will depend on numbers signed up.  Participants will be notified - please arrive by the designed time in order to change your shoes and get them taped if needed, find yourself grippers and get a broom

Rowan's Law:

Participants under 26 - please review Concussion Awareness Resource

Please click here to complete and print a record of your review.

Rowan’s Law was named for Rowan Stringer, a high school rugby player from Ottawa, who died in the spring of 2013 from a condition known as second impact syndrome (swelling of the brain caused by a subsequent injury that occurred before a previous injury healed). Rowan is believed to have experienced three concussions over six days while playing rugby. She had a concussion but didn’t know her brain needed time to heal. Neither did her parents, teachers or coaches.

Registration is limited and usually sells out so sign up early!
